“Inheritance” is a painting about female lineage and the things we inherit from our ancestors that are woven into our psyches and our cells. Here, my cousin Minnie wears rings by my sister’s jewelry brand, Minnie Lane. My cousin, my sister and her jewelry brand were all named after our grandmother, who - to us - was a style icon. She gave all of us a love for expressing ourselves through style and an appreciation for art and inner beauty. This painting echoes our inheritance.
